Learn basic watercolor techniques and exercises that you can do to familiarize yourself with the medium and set you on the right path towards becoming a confident watercolor artist.
In this class we'll cover:
Watercolor supplies- let's talk about the differences between cold press and hot press paper, what is the difference between professional and student grade paints, loose paper sheets vs watercolor paper blocks, and more. None are wrong- but we'll talk through the pros and cons of the options!
Color theory- we'll cover the basics of the color wheel and look at how the use of color relationships impacts your artwork.
Brush techniques- let's discuss multiple different brush techniques and learn a variety of ways to use them.
Composition- we'll look at ways toughtful composition can add visual flow and interest to your artwork.
Painters will focus on creating playful practice pieces during this time... expirmenting and gaining a better understanding of the aspects above!
No prior art experience is needed, but you will need to bring your own supplies to this class.
Class time is from 2:00- 4:00 pm.
The deadline to register is 1 day (24 hours) before class.
